Download is available at partnersource and customersource. Early in Macy Microsoft release Microsoft Dynamics AX R3 and can also be downloaded from the links mentioned in my previous post.
At that time the application was general available and could be installed using the Microsoft Dynamics AX R3 setup files or you could deploy a virtual machine on Azure.
This demo virtual machine can now be run at your own hardware using hyper-V as earlier demo machines versions use to run. However, this AX R3 demo machine is upgraded with latest Microsoft stack:.
You can download the machine from either Customersource or Partnersource. Mount the vhd to the virtual machine application and spend three hours to configure the setting before the virtual machine can be used. The virtual machine is too slow to do anything.
Yes you read it correctly. It is about 30 minutes to setup. It is how easy this method and why I call it cool trick. This is the content of tutorial. You will have 26 files from the download page. Extract this into a folder.
System then will assign new drive letter to the VHD. For my case it is H: drive. Open command prompt. Following command prompt will appear:. Then now the important part creating the dual boot, enter following command the H drive depends on the driver letter assigned on previouse step. Look for below node, right click edit. By default the vhd file become your C: drive and the main disk C: drive of your windows 7 become E: drive.
We need to change this E: drive to something else because we need E: drive for the data for VM. Run it and change your E: drive to P Drive like below:. Well we need that file now. In the navigation pane on the left, click Virtual Machines. The Virtual machines page is displayed. Use the information in the Name and Location columns to identify a virtual machine that is associated with an AX R3 environment in the project. There may be multiple virtual machines associated with the project; however, you just need to select one.
View the information in the VHD column. Take note of the GUID. This GUID will help you identify other related artifacts. Delete the AX R3 environments that exist in the project.
For instructions, see the section in this topic, How do I delete an environment? Complete the following procedure to delete image files. These image files were used to create the virtual machines for the AX R3 environments in the Lifecycle Services project. If AX R3 demo environments were the only type of environments deployed from this project, there may be no image files to delete. If you do, a different page is displayed. There are several artifacts that get saved to the storage account associated with each Lifecycle Services project.
The largest files are copies of the VHD files that were used to create the virtual machines for the AX R3 environments in the Lifecycle Services project.
These are copies of the VHD files that you deleted in the previous procedure. Complete the following procedure to delete VHD files from the storage account. They will be automatically deleted when you delete the storage account in the next procedure.
Complete the following procedure to delete the storage account that is associated with your Lifecycle Services project. Complete the following procedure to delete the management certificate that is associated with the Lifecycle Services project. Locate the management certificate that you downloaded when you initially connected the project to your Azure subscription. By default, the management certificate is saved to the Downloads folder on your computer and is named LifecycleServicesDeployment.
Double-click the management certificate. The Certificate window is displayed. On the General tab, note the name in the Issued to field. In the navigation pane on the left, click Settings. The Settings page is displayed. Click Management Certificates at the top of the page. A list of certificates is displayed. Identify the management certificate that you want to delete by viewing the information in the Name column.
The name on this page will match the name you identified in step 3.
