Vancouver bike club time trial

It spun in the opposite direction; otherwise, they would have been hit. Teague assumed he had plenty of room to navigate the move. It was a no-passing zone for vehicles, and the motorist coming toward the cyclists was keeping to his lane. As the other cyclist waved toward Teague — a warning — he looked up and saw the vehicle bearing down. The driver revved the engine.

He had no place to go as the car zoomed by within inches of hitting Teague and the other cyclist, who was now behind him. Doing so dropped participation by half. Now, the future of the time trials is in question. Nancy Cook, a time trial organizer, said she had no choice but to move change the day of the time trials because of safety concerns.

During the first three weeks of the time trials, there was the T-bone collision, a report of gunshots being fired, and the near-miss of Teague and the other cyclist. In part, Cook and others blame rowdy new activity at the park due to the elimination of parking fees.

Hey guys, just returned from a great weekend in Sun River for the Pacific Crest Sports Festival so I thought I would send out a quick recap of all the festivities.

We had great weather, sunny and warm! Congratulations to everyone who competed, every made it and not one got injured! Always the first priority. We had a great bunch of tri-groupers out threre. Lisa, Sarah, Molly and I all did the long course triathlon. The race started exactly on time this year! The water was cold as usual, degrees depending on which race official you asked. The swim felt good for me, a little hard to sight into the morning sun going to first buoy, but calm water and I just tried to relax and take one stroke at a time and BREATHE!

Came out of the water feeling solid thanks to fresh custom earplugs from Sarah and tried to hustle into T1. Transition a little slow, my hands were shaking a little from the cold water, but got my bike gear on, took a quick a quick drink, ate part of a bar, and started motoring. Weather was perfect for the bike, the feeling in my feet came back by mile 8, and then I felt great the rest of the way.

Always tempting to climb fast, but kept my cadence high and just tried not to burn my legs too much. Downhill was superfast! Very little wind coming down this year and I felt really fast going into T2. Again a little slow in transition quick sani-can stop , and out to the run. Who were we kidding thinking it would be cool this year at Pac Crest?

I just tried to stick to my pace and walk through every aid station. Ice water on my head, down my jersey, and a little to drink at every station. Keep it steady Yost. Nothing better than the cheers and hearing them announce your name at the finish line, except getting to cheer all your friends on as well!

Good job guys, another great year at Pacific Crest! June 27, at pm Oregon Athletic Clubs 2 comments. Expert coaches and supportive participant groups make this one of our most popular membership-inclusive adult programs.

In the meantime, RAC Tri Coach, Bryant, shares some swim technique target areas for triathletes that a colleague had passed on. Do any of these apply to you? Came across the line and my computer said with an average of When I walked back out to give them the number back, he said I did which comes out to an average of Next time I need to bring the running shoes, a good half the field went running after their ride.

Flat empty road and a brick opportunity. While waiting in the starting line every 30 second start , I talked to the young guy in front of me and he was going to do the Wisconsin Ironman in a couple weeks as his first ironman.
