Since it runs in the background you do NOT have to wait while it backs up so long as the computer is running. I believe, but am not certain, that it only backs up changes in the files except for the initial backup….
If you backup all or most of your working drive the first time it does a backup it can take a long time; maybe overnight. You may also find that the backup usually takes almost twice as much space on the backup drive as there is on the working drive.
